Gillian and Jake are both concerned with art as a language for the soul.
Gillian approaches painting in an intuitive way, using abstract compositional structures to allow the language of colour to speak. Emotionally charged, her work is the product of a contemplative process, celebrating the mystery of the unknown.
Jake creates site specific installations for communal events such as festivals and pilgrimages which act as a catalyst for public and private ritual. Inspired by Byzantine and Romanesque art, his work involves drawing, printmaking and early photographic processes.
